Seahorse Cabin is located on idyllic Wattle Bank Farm known for its Grow, Play and Stay activities. It is only 8 minutes to the glorious Inverloch beaches and the wonderful wildlife walks in the Wonthaggi Heathlands. Wilson's Promontory is just 1.5 hrs away.

It is sustainable farm that grows gourmet oyster mushrooms for local and Melbourne restaurants and also has a permaculture garden from which you can forage from. You can book in for a farm tour or a natural horsemanship experience with Australian adventurer Peter Bland and his wife Beatrice.

The 1970's 10 metre long caravan has been repurposed to provide an ideal getaway for a couple or family with young children.

The tiny home is appointed with a separate master bed room with a Queen Bed, 3 Japanese style bunk beds off the lounge room, a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. It also has a beautiful indoor wood heater.

During your stay you can choose to be completely self sufficient or order a curated hamper showcasing local Gippsland producers. Access to the gardens can be arranged for guests to select additional seasonal greens and citrus. Maybe you might like to pre-order some mushrooms for breakfast!

The outdoor area includes a fire pit complete with hammock under the old spreading tree and is the perfect environment to unwind or dine in warmer months. You can cook indoors or in a camp oven in the fire pit or the BBQ. There is plenty of space for little ones to run outside or they can play on the tyre swing.

We love creating experiences for our guests so if there is any special occasions that you are celebrating, let us know in advance and we will help you curate a magical experience for your loved ones.

Pets are welcome but we ask that you kindly let us know a bit about them when booking. Please note that we live on the property with our horses, chooks, dogs and a cat.

The Local Community
We like to call Wattle Bank a small ‘hamlet’ wedged between the ocean and the countryside. Our farm is located on Bunurong land - Bass Coast 1hr and 50 minutes from Melbourne. Made up of pastoral lands, local producers, cheese makers and wine makers, you are surrounded by the famous green rolling hills of Gippsland and 25 minutes from Philip Island.

The Farmers Note
Peter and I absolutely love providing an immersive experience of our farm with our guests - from a personalised welcome to an introduction or experience with the horses, foraging and picking mushrooms, showing guests what’s growing in the garden and sharing this with them, stopping for a yarn in the farm shop. Alternatively, if you like total privacy, you are completely separate to the main property. We are always available if you have any questions and we enjoy sharing the best outings and produce from our local area.

Above all, we hope that you can relax and rejuvenate and simply unplug.

Additional Information:

PETS
? Please note that pets are welcome on our farm and in our region.
? There are many dog friendly facilities near us and a map is located in the cabin ? Contact us to discuss first as owing to the horses, pets will need to be on a leash around the property. Kindly bring their own bedding so they dont sleep on the beds. OFF GRID
This off-grid experience operates on 12 volt and solar panels and has a compostable toilet. There are ample outlets to recharge your phones but we encourage you to leave behind the rest of the gadgets! Items such as hairdryers do pull a lot of power and we request not to use this during your stay. On cloudy days or in winter when we have less sunlight, we recommend the power is switched off during the day. There is a main switch at the front which turns off all power in one go Indoor and outdoor games are available as well as yoga mats and some day beds complete with rugs. You will find these under the bed. In winter months ensure to dress warm for your own comfort, warm wooly comforters, additional blankets and hot water bottles are included in the cabin.
We recommend boots or gum boots in the middle of winter especially if you are going to horse ride or walk the paddocks.
We have a beautiful indoor wood heater for winter and those cool Victorian nights. In summer, throw open all the windows front and back and the cool air breezes through. Flyscreens keep those mozzies away.
The caravan is surrounded by a small garden complete with sun loungers and a hammock perfect to take in a great evening sunset overlooking the rolling hills of South Gippsland.
